VIPER

Vishnu Institute of Pharmaceutical Education & Research (VIPER) was established under the aegis of Sri Vishnu Educational Society (SVES) in the year 2007 inaugurated by His Excellency Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, Former President of India on 16th August 2007. The institute is affiliated to Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad Telangana, and also approved by the AICTE and PCI, New Delhi.

The institute  has well equipped laboratories catering to the various disciplines like Pharmaceutics, Pharmacology, Pharmaceutical chemistry, Pharmacognosy, Pharmaceutical Analysis and Biotechnology. VIPER is the only pharmaceutical education institute in Telangana has state-of-the-art Centre for molecular and cancer research (CMCR), Cognitive Science laboratories and  Nutraceutical manufacturing facilities.

The institute is well connected with WI-FI round the clock for the benefit of the students. VIPER has well equipped centralized air conditioned seminar hall with the latest technology for hosting national and international conferences, Seminars etc. VIPER is the first Pharmaceutical education institute  in the state of Telangana accredited by NBA & NAAC. The college has spacious canteen facilities to serve hygienically prepared food for students and faculty. VIPER is located around 40KM away from Hyderabad. The college provides transportation every corner of the city in association with its sister institution BVRIT Narsapur. Students can choose the most feasible bus point near his/her residence to reach VIPER by boarding BVRIT/VIPER buses.

Society

Sri Vishnu Educational Society (SVES) was established by Late Padma Bhushan Dr. B.V. Raju, the doyen of Indian cement industry. SVES is providing high quality education in pharmacy, medicine and engineering. His high service orientation, philanthropic & holistic attitude led to the establishment of various educational institutions in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. SVES stood best among the equals because of its perseverance and hard work. The temples of learning associated with it are committed to providing positive & a creative learning environment that would transform budding professionals into technology innovators and market leaders of the next generation. SVES aims to achieve academic excellence through its improved teaching pedagogy that includes classroom interaction, case discussion, seminars by various industry experts and eminent academicians, hands-on training, group discussions and role-play, workshops and employability training, etc.

"A man who rose from the state of subservient to an affluent status by his dedication and hard work"

Padma Bhushan Dr. B. V. Raju, the Founder Chairman of Sri Vishnu Educational Society was a man of simple words, high aims, and higher achievements. Born in a humble agricultural family at Kumudavalli, a small village in West Godavari Dt., Andhra Pradesh, Dr. Raju believed that education is the key to help a person rise to the state of true humanness. His persistence and determination to win against all odds eventually saw him take a Bachelor of Engineering in Chemical Technology at Benaras Hindu University and later was part of a management program at the prestigious Harvard University.

Starting his career in a small way in the cement industry, the tenacious young man rose to the level of Chairman. In 1972 he was invited to head the Cement Corporation of India (CCI). He then went on to play a key role in the planning, construction and commissioning of various cement factories across India. The Government of India recognized the distinguished services of this Doyen of Cement Industry and awarded him the title "Padma Shri" in 1977. Post his retirement his urge to become an industrialist made him venture into the industry and he started many companies starting with cement, ceramics, refractories and paper. The Raasi Group of Industries became a success catapulting him to the pinnacle of his career.

After attaining these heights, this man of few words and an unassuming personality, channeled all his energy and personal funds to bring to reality his long-cherished dream of 'promoting and disseminating knowledge and serving the cause of education in general and professional education in particular'. His efforts resulted in the identification of two strategic locations for higher technical education- Narsapur (Medak dt.) in Telangana and Bhimavaram (West Godavari dt.) in Andhra Pradesh. From 1997 onwards, he established two engineering colleges, a dental college and a hospital, a college of pharmacy, a college for computer education, a polytechnic and various schools under the banner of Sri Vishnu Educational Society.

In 2001, the Government of India felicitated Dr. B. V. Raju yet again for his dedicated and immeasurable service to society, awarding him the title "Padma Bhushan".

Chairman's Message

A Compassionate human being who has seen diversity and had practiced mindfulness in different walks of his life.

Shri. K.V. Vishnu Raju was born in 1964 and raised by his grandparents with utmost love and care. He was an inquisitive and ardent student who maintained marvellous academic record throughout his schooling. He then pursued chemical engineering from REC, Trichy. His quest for knowledge took him to Michigan Tech University, USA to complete his post-graduation.

He initially gained his field experience from E.T.Dupont DeNumours, USA(1991-98) by heading the R&D department in Polymers, Ceramics and Adhesives. He then acquired the most essential administrative and leadership skills by serving Raasi Cement Ltd., Hyderabad (1992-98). Later, he took over the responsibility of Anjani Portland Cement Ltd., Hyderabad as its Managing Director in 1999.

Post the demise of his grandfather Shri. B.V.Raju, Shri. K. V. Vishnu Raju took upon the mantle of eloquently maintaining and managing the industries and the educational society successfully.

Stay relevant, is his philosophy, hence he has pinned his big bets on several new research parks that are aimed at empowering the students to do more innovation and to have out of the box thinking!

The vision of our Founder Chairman, Padma Bhushan Dr. B. V. Raju, was to develop a disciplined Knowledge Society especially in the field of technical education. To promote this, he established Sri Vishnu Educational Society to flourish in two campuses – at Bhimavaram, West Godavari district and at Narsapur, Medak district, Andhra Pradesh. Between them, these two campuses house 4 engineering colleges, a dental college and hospital, 2 pharmacy colleges, polytechnic, computer education centres, and schools for primary and higher education.

These institutes are designed to provide the best instructional, practical and research facilities that are deemed to ft into the current corporate requirement. Our faculty members are recruited from the best academic institutions and have proven track records as academicians, researchers and practitioners. It is my belief that our qualified faculty and motivated students will take this endeavor forward to national acclaim.

In relevance to the impetus from our visionary, the Society today is committed to further develop these thriving and flourishing institutes by upgrading the infrastructural details, amenities and teaching standards. Construction of new blocks to provide for inclusion of newer disciplines, new equipment, e-class rooms and to meet the growing need of hostel blocks for students is evidence to this process.

Sri Vishnu Engineering College for Women at Bhimavaram has been evaluated by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA) established by AICTE. The NBA acknowledged the academic aims and standards of the institution and accorded accreditation to this institute for a period of five years.

A humble step we took towards development of a Knowledge Centre at Kumudavalli has also become an immediate success. This centre is designed to impart practical education to rural school children for whom infrastructure and laboratory facilities are otherwise not available. This success encourages us to identify areas and develop more such centres for needy rural children.

With inspiration and encouragement coming from all directions, I envisage developing this Society and its Temples of Education and take them further to University Status. I welcome you to partake in this journey.

About Principal

Dr.Ramesh Alluri is Presently, 08 Ph.D. students are pursuing their research towards Ph. D. degree. Later in 2011 he is again transferred as Principal to Vishnu Institute of pharmaceutical Education and Research which belongs to the same society.He was twice the Secretary of Association of Pharmaceutical teachers of India (APTI) A.P State and presently CEC Member, IPA. He is also a Member of the BOS for many Universities and has participated actively as a Member in many national level committees framed by PCI, IPA etc.Has 75 research publications to his credit in peer reviewed National and International Journals and a few of them have received Best Paper Awards also.

He is a life member of professional bodies like IPA and APTI. Prof. Ramesh research group has presented its research work in more then 50 International conferences specifically in USA ,Europe,Dubai ,Australia, South Africa and Malaysia. He received projects worth more than 2.15 Crores from DST,foundation of MSME etc. He is associated as one of the Author for 4 books.
He has written 3 books & got one patent and received various awards like BEST PHARMA TEACHER,SHIKASHA GAURAV PURSKAR AWARD and Best principal Award. Alcorn state University,USA recognized and gave Excellence award.

QUALITY OF INTERNAL SEMESTER :

As per JNTU regulation the marks allotted to theory  and practicals are 25% respectively. The remaining 75% done at university end semester .The university end examinations are conducted at center other than host college.

 

The following procedure is used for CO attainment calculation:

3.3.2. Provide results of evaluation of each PO (30)

 

Program shall set Program Outcome attainment levels for all POs.

 

(The attainment levels by direct (student performance) and indirect (surveys) are to be presented through Program level Course-PO matrix as indicated).

 

PO Attainment

 

C101, C102 are indicative courses in the first year. Similarly, C409 is final year course. First numeric digit indicates year of study and remaining two digits indicate course nos. in the respective year of study.

 

Direct attainment level of a PO is determined by taking average across all courses addressing that PO. Fractional numbers may be used for example 1.55.

 

Indirect attainment level of a PO is determined based on the student exit surveys, employer surveys, co-curricular activities, extracurricular activities etc.

 

Example:

 

  1. It is assumed that a particular PO has been mapped to four courses C2O1, C3O2, C3O3, C401
  2. The attainment level for each of the four courses will be as per the examples shown in 2.2.2
  3. PO attainment level will be based on attainment levels of direct assessment and indirect assessment
  4. It is assumed that while deciding on overall attainment level 80% weightage may be given to direct assessment and 20% weightage to indirect assessment through surveys from students(largely), employers (to some extent). Program may have different weightages with appropriate justification.
  5. Assuming following actual attainment levels:

 

Direct Assessment

C303 – Low (1)

C401 – High (3)

 

Attainment level will be summation of levels divided by no. of courses 3+2+1+3/4= 9/4=2.25

 

Indirect Assessment

 

Surveys, Analysis, customized to an average value as per levels 1, 2 & 3.

Assumed level - 2

PO Attainment level will be 80% of direct assessment + 20% of indirect assessment i.e. 1.8 + 0.4 = 2.2.

Results of total evaluation of each PO are based on two factors:

Direct attainment         - 80% (based on student performance)

Indirect attainment      - 20% (based on surveys)

Sri. K.V. Vishnu Raju, Chairman

Sri. K.V. Vishnu Raju, is the grandson of the Founder Chairman Padma Bhushan Dr. B.V. Raju and is his ardent follower and admirer. He began his career as a Chemical Engineer in M/s. E.T. Dupont De Nemours, USA, from 1989 to 1991, where he looked after research and development in polymers, ceramics and adhesives. He returned to India in 1992 and served as the Executive Director of M/s. Raasi Cement Ltd., Hyderabad till 1995. The following year, he was promoted as Joint Managing Director of M/s. Raasi Cement Ltd., a post that he held till April 1998. In December 1999, he took over as the Managing Director of M/s. Anjani Portland Cement Ltd., Hyderabad.

He completed his graduation in Chemical Engineering at REC, Trichy and his Post Graduation at Michigan Tech University, U.S.A. He is now the Managing Director of Vennar Ceramics Ltd., Sai Aditya Foods & Retail Pvt. Ltd. and Hitech Print Systems Ltd. He received the 'best alumnus award' from NIT Trichy in the year 2015 for his outstanding contribution towards academics. He was appointed as a member in State Private Sector Advisory Group (S-PSAG) of A.P. State Higher Education Department. His aim is to fulfill the dreams of founder chairman late Padmabhushan Dr. B.V. Raju by following his path of serving the poor & needy and to promote the cause of education and serve the society.
